One tragedy, two sides, how many broken hearts?
Count the cost.
Take the next step, cross the threshold,
Eyes open wide to the pain ahead.
How did we become so fragile? How did we lose our way?
Are we willing to be misunderstood?
Place one bird upon the altar;
Knot the scarlet thread around the others’ ankle.
Dip it in the blood, watch it fly away.
Beauty for ashes – that’s always His way.
But ashes prove that something has been burned,
Destroyed,
Cannot be recovered – will never be again what it once was.
Ashes – we all fall down.
Who will rise again? In the end,
My friend,
There is no looking back.
You were always worth it.
