“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5.17 ESV
Haunting hurts are housed in my inner home,
opening doors to a dark past that’s leaving
a trail of sins that have left me grieving—
replaying scenes that swayed Heaven to groan,
damned to dwell in hell where memories roam,
impairing me to discard what’s shaming.
Noose around my soul, there is no freeing;
gloaming is the residence where I’m known.
Whom can I surrender my sorrows to?
Oh, Lord, put to order my disorder,
un-tell the tales that have left me downcast.
Navigate my heart to see a true view.
Declutter the rooms and free this hoarder
so that I’m able to move past the past.
