When I hear the word embodying, I think of draping flesh on something abstract or ethereal–to provide that something with a voice, a pulse, a place to tabernacle among us. At times, we need a glimpse of that place, that spiritual realm, and be reminded of that High Country, so that we can sing in unison the words of Charlie Peacock’s song, “I Want to Live Like Heaven is a Real Place.”
Hover over me the shaft of dawn’s light
Ferment my soul with the realm of delight
Shimmer loves silhouette upon my form
So I’ll be properly dressed and adorned
To reify the deified presence
Unwill my will and etch beauty’s essence
Now my heart may host all things of the Fae
I am an emblem for the afterday
I am an emblem for the afterday
Now my heart may host all things of the Fae
Unwill my will and etch beauty’s essence
To reify the deified presence
So I’ll be properly dressed and adorned
Shimmer loves silhouette upon my form
Ferment my soul with the realm of delight
Hover over me the shaft of dawn’s light
