A delicious tradition especially loved at Christmas time!
Note: this recipe **Contains gluten, dairy, and sugar

FULL BATCH
1 ½ cup sugar 4 ½ cups water 1 cup Crisco 1 T salt 4 eggs 1 packet yeast 12-13 cups flour
|
HALF BATCH
¾ cup sugar 2 ¼ cups water ½ cup Crisco 1 ½ tsp salt 2 eggs ½ packet yeast 5-6 cups flour |
Boil the water and sugar for five minutes
Add the Crisco
Let cool to lukewarm
Add salt and beaten eggs
Add flour and yeast until sticky
Knead
Let rise and punch down three times
Shape into buns
Let sit overnight
Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Enjoy!
