ancia E. Smith is a writer, photographer, speaker, and publisher. She is the Founder of Cultivating Oaks Press, LLC, and its fellowship of writers and makers, The Maker’s Project, the publisher of Cultivating Magazine, and Co-Host of the C.S. Lewis Writer's Conference.
Forty five years sober, Lancia has provided long-term support counseling for the bereaved, trauma and abuse survivors, and recovering addict and alcoholics. She has gratefully served in executive management, church leadership, school boards, and art & faith organizations for over 40 years. Throughout her own recovery process, Lancia has been privileged to mentor and disciple individuals seeking a whole and recovered life rooted in Christ.
In this chapter of their life as empty-nesters, Lancia and Peter make their home in the Black Forest of Colorado Springs where they spend most of their “non-work” time restoring an old house to a happier condition and restoring the land it sits on to its potential beauty. Welcoming a merry stream of guests to The Havens, they keep company with 200 Ponderosa pine trees, a herd of mule deer, two beautiful black cats, a wild fox, two owls, and an ever expanding library. Lancia loves design; road trips; being read aloud to by Peter; epic soundtracks, beautifully bound books, gardens, photography, and the works of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and George MacDonald. She lives with the daily mercies of the Triune God and in constant gratitude for the beloved company of Cultivators.
Lancia's newest endeavours will be released in the autumn of 2026. Bearing Witness: Conversations with Malcolm Guite, and its companion guide book, Recovering Witness.
